In 2006 I returned to the small island of Agistri after an absence of 16 years.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, I started visiting Greece when I was 19 years old and I was forever changed. Greece brought me in touch with who I really needed to be, awakened me into womanhood and spirituality.

Wherever else I traveled in Greece, Santorini, Paros or Pelion; I always came back to

spend part of my trip on Agistri.

Like many people, I was always drawn back by some magical force and I have made several friends on Agistri with whom I am still in touch after 20 some years while we all live in different countries and on three different continents.

After moving to the US in 1991, I started missing Greece in such a deep emotional way that I felt truly homesick.

When I became a Nia teacher in April of 2005, I realized that I had found a way to bring my self and my family back to Greece by creating a Nia retreat on Agistri. There we dance Nia outdoors, by the Aegean Sea, exposed to sound of the waves and the inspiring views of the water on the same dance floor where I danced as a 19 year old.

This year we will return to Greece for the 5th year in a row

Our focus is Dancing with the elements with the intent to create Transformation and Magic. I will be presenting this event with my friend Nidhi, a Nia White Belt and Holistic Therapist.
